Guess who drops their membership in the American Legislative Exchange Council?

Coca Cola, Pepsi and Kraft Foods!

The Stand Your Ground law may have been the last straw, because these people all ignored the voting law changes ALEC has also been pushing through, all over the country. The timing seems to suggest that Stand Your Ground has become extremely embarrassing.

It's a shame that businesses allow themselves to be bullied by anti-Second Amendment liberals over this issue. I think Florida Statues § 776.012 and § 776.013 are good legislation that simply recognize people shouldn't have to run away or be killed when threatened by others.

All kinds of special interest groups write all kinds of legislation (including your beloved Obamacare). So what? When it's done by a free-market advocacy group, you suddenly have a big problem with it? I personally know someone who works for ALEC. He is an intelligent, highly educated, rational person who espouses libertarian views that closely align with mine. To say that ALEC "leave[s] lawmakers' constituents out of the loop" is false. I live in an area where my views are not, and will never be represented in government because one party has a stranglehold on politics. For whatever reason, the people here always vote them in, even though they almost always vote for conservative ballot measures that are diametrically opposed to the political stances of the people they just voted into office (again). ALEC represents me in government because for whatever reason the majority where I live can't figure out that the people they're voting for don't hold the same values as they do.

By the way, you never provided evidence of your assertion in the title of the thread: "American Legislative Exchange Council - Pollution is Good?"
