"Pragmatism" would be diametrically opposed to "neutrality." If you're pragmatic, that means you're involved in the process and have chosen sides. For that reason, I think Newt has a point. But that's ok - there are outlets that slant left, too.

no one has proven Fox News is pragmatic with their approach is my pt -- some have assumed & then characterized their hunches

projecting a winner based on facts & observable outcomes does not make 1 pragmatic nor slanted -- i find it objective

Gideon used the word "pragmatic," tsnody and (I think?) one or two other people including myself agreed with him. You may not agree, certainly.

we are not communicating...everyone in this thread knows this but it's irrelevant -- it's opinion -- we cannot infer intent w/o some evidence

facts were given & their prognostication was based on that -- anything more, w/o evidence, is speculation -- you want to proclaim conclusions that are unsubstantiated simply because "everyone knows Fox is conservative" -- sorry, but that doesn't prove your assertions

let's not waste any more time belaboring this trivial pt

Why is it so important to make Newt Gingrich (or me) wrong in this instance?

I just don't happen to think he is wrong. I think he is right and several people have acknowledged that Fox News is openly favoring Mitt Romney.

But I will join tsnody2001 in (again) stating that Fox News isn't the only news outlet with a slant. I'm not trying to take a dig at Fox News (I thought I had made that clear). But this story is very interesting, and I thank Cow for posting it.

it's not important but trivial, as i said -- nevertheless, i'll comment when i feel a view is under-represented or i have something edifying to share

i merely disagreed with the characterization by a few posters that included you -- you made bolder claims than they did, imo, so i focused on them for that reason

again, just because a few claim something doesn't make it true...so we disagree

i tend to ignore these threads cause they pale in comparison to those asking for help, discussing doctrine, understanding God's Holiness, etc -- i looked @ this 1 cause it was old news as Newt had done this a couple times in the previous yr -- you should recall this since you "love news"

plus, we all need to distinguish between FNC's, CNN's, etc's news programs & their "opinion" (i forget the generic term) shows -- i would expect Hannity, Ed, & Anderson to slant the "news" vs. simply reporting it
