Hi,
My name is Josiah. I am a college student going to fire academy, working full time, and leading worship at my youth group. This past two weeks have been pretty upsetting for me. Starting last monday I starting having a little trouble with my girlfriend, then kinda went away. Thursday my truck broke down to the point that it isn't worth fixing. I then went to get another vehicle. There was only one problem with that, the people I lived with didn't like it so they kicked me out of their house. My youth pastor allowed me to live with him for a little over a month (Until 9-20-09). I need a place to stay at low cost until I can afford an apartment on my own.
Now I'm having more trouble with my girlfriend, I think this has been the worst part of the week because I really like her and she says that she really likes me but doesn't always show it in the way that she (when she has the chance to hang around me) always chooses to hang with her friends, or whatever else it may be. I'm not trying to be like this but these two weeks have been kinda depressing. I know that satan has a strong battle wagging against me because I really feel that I am where the Lord wants me to be right now.
All I want to do is the Lord's will, NOTHING else. I'm just scared, worried, and depressed. I've never felt like this before. Like I said, I know it's satan because of those traits. I just need encouragement and prayer.

In Christ,

Joshiah, those of us who are a little older will all chime in and say, "been there, done that." Troubles come to all men and Christians are not exempt. But if you really want God's will in this, here are some words from God on the subject:

Romans 5:1-5
Quote:
1Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. 3And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

To exult means to REJOICE GREATLY. Having just told us that we have peace with God because we are justified by faith, Paul then tells us to REJOICE GREATLY in our tribulations. Is this man sick?? No. God gets glory when we lift Him up even as we go through tough times. Continue to walk by faith and praise Him, even when it seems difficult to do so. In the mean time, many who frequent this forum will lift you in prayer.

Father, we pray right now for Josiah. Quiet his heart. Pour grace on him so that he can continue to walk in obedience to you even during tough times. May his heart and his girlfriend's heart both be caught up with You. May they put you first, not each other. Show Josiah that You are capable of meeting his financial need because You are Jehovah-jireh, the Lord Who Provides. May Your Name be glorified through Josiah's present trials. Amen.

Regards.

Hello JosiahKing,

We all face trails and tribulations in life but persevere.
Job faced trials immensely and he got through.
Satan temps, God tests, so don't give Satan the glory, turn your thoughts around to thinking that God is testing your faith, endurance and perseverance so when you pass through this test he will guide you through your next level of strengthening your faith within.
Glorify the Lord and put him on a pedestal.
Have faith and trust in the Lord and be strong.

I pray for you also.
Peace be with you.
Amen.

Josiah,
Our physical bodies teach us many things about its needs and more importantly about God's Provisions.
Health experts are very quick to tell us our bodies need a good balanced breakfast; get the right start; be fueled up for the day's tasks. Well, you know...
The very same simple truth exists for our spiritual day. Begin FEEDING on God's Word; just a special verse or two. It would even be good to memorize them... FEED on their energy all the day. Second, decide who your true love and master is... 'gotta tell ya, it won't (or shouldn't) be a girlfriend. When others try to yank you around (to prove their mastery of you) call to mind those verses and the price paid on Calvary for your salvation.)
Now let me ask you a very important question... you told us you are a youth leader, (I think). Remember that others are always watching you to see how you trust God's promises (with joy).

Choose a strong Christian friend you can have cokes with (often), while discussing God's bountiful provisions. Remind yourself that God is providing the transportation to rapture you to a mansion He has already made for you. Do you then think He loves you enough to provide transportation and lodging here on Earth?

I would welcome your emails.

Need to assess your priorities and go from there #1 career is very important and you are trying to be a fire fighter for this I think you should devote all to it then you can worry about girl friends later, to me if someone does not want to be there for you in times like this I think you need to known if she is really committed to you are not, I know in my life time I had to rent rooms from people it was temporary but I got by and if see if one of your buddies in the fire academy see if you can find a ride who knows you may find someone.. Until you can find more suitable transportation We will pray for you..
