May 3 is the first Thursday in May, designated a national day of prayer by act of Congress. There are numerous web sites where you can find out what it's all about.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation has challenged this statute in court, but has so far not prevailed.

Remember to pray tomorrow, for the nation and for its leaders. And remember this: if America doesn't pray, then America hasn't got a prayer.

Agreed.

I'll admit that many days go by when I do not include America in my prayers. This isn't so much intentional omission. It's more like I pray about whatever's on my mind. I'm not defending this practice. I'm just admitting to it.

there's too much to pray for/about -- i suppose that's a good thing in that it helps our reliance on God vs. ourselves
