Name of your church: in the car, one the way to work, lunch time, on the way home, in the dining room, in the bedroom, but current looking for a new church home
This election year reminds me quite a bit of several others 1976, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000.... the rhetoric is easy to spot... stuff said to elicit an emotional response... stuff said that would never hold up to scrutiny, stuff said on both sides that make both parties seem like an equally bad choice...

arguments based on populist notions... critical thinking leaves us with the choice of what we think is the lesser of two evils... and... when it's an incumbent... with rare exception... it's the "devil we know" rather than the new face... the system is broken... none dare try to fix it from the outside... and none can fix it from the inside...

and that's just here in the states!!!!

looking out world wide, we see sabre rattling everywhere... Iran's back and forth on the nukes.... Iraq and Afghanistan slowly sliding back into the mire of the region and old hatreds.... with Pakistan giving implicit permission to Al Qaeda to use it's lands for training, R&R, etc... and then there's Russia, slowly siding back into it's Soviet mindset... and all the while China & the Middle Eastern countries holding the majority of the US Debt......

there really only several ways that this will resolve the situations that grow more dire on a daily basis. 1.) this is the least likely I might add, that 7 billion people finally learn how to live with each other, putting aside old prejudices, hatreds, and fears. 2.) everything stays the same... 3.) we destroy one another or 4.) Jesus returns.

my point really, is this, I watch the news and stay abreast of the global, national, state and local events, and what I see is the truth of God's word, news agencies only tell us about the really bad stuff. Loss of life, corruption in government, corruption in the church. It boils down to a lot of fear mongering. All to rarely do we hear about the minister who for twenty years served the poor in the inner city. People who run soup kitchens, food pantries, supplying clothing and in some situation paying rent and/or heat.

geez...now look, I've rambled... and how did I get on this soapbox????

Kay Bailey Hutchinson has joined Lisa Murkowski in condemning what she sees as an actual war on women.

http://thinkprogress.org/health/2012/04/06/459702/murkowski-becomes-third-republican-senator-to-criticize-gops-war-on-women/

Quoting from the link:

The men in the Republican Party may not think they’re fighting a “war on women,” but its female senators certainly do. Yesterday, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) joined Sens. Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Kay Bailey Hutchison in criticizing the GOP’s push for legislation to restrict access to contraception and other basic health care services...

I believe Kay Bailey Hutchinson is US Senator from Texas, and is known to be more conservative than is LIsa Murkoswki.

Also there are real effects in the polling data, because President Obama is something like 18 points ahead of both Romney and Santorum among female voters right now. That's Googable.
