My boss says she's a very Christian person. I can't pass judgement on that or not, it isn't my place to pass judgement. She made a comment today and I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. She told a co-worker that the reason her mother had some many problems(mental health issues) was because she wasn't a good person, I'm guessing she means not a good Christian. What's your opionion on that? I thought, personally that the comment was rude.

WE are supposed to honor our father and mother,
even more so if they have a disability, IMHO.....

Exactly. It bothered me that she told my co-worker that because my mother has health issues(kidney disease) too. I didn't know if she just didn't think or if she really believes what she said. She's given me the impression before that she thinks the same thing about my mother but I didn't ask her and I didn't discuss it with her.

Hi Steffi,
And you were right not to judge, just observe. Maybe this women has issues of her own that you don't know about.

Name of your church: Formally;Water of Life Ministries under the Baptist Union; hardly anyone in the church knows that. It's in the biggest little town in Oz.
That view of divine retribution is exactly what God was annoyed with Job's friends for. Job had to offer a sacrifice on their behalf because of their 'blaming the victim' and 'kicking someone when they're down' approach.
Jesus' response to the question of why someone was born blind was not to look for causes but to use the situation to show the glory of God by providing healing. That is our task, even if it is only a spiritual healing we can assist in, rather than being judgemental.

Totally inappropriate then. You might want to inform your co-worker that your boss is not representative of Christian beliefs.

To sad to hear that there are still people who says they are Christians but they don't live like Christians, we MUST respect our parents in all way, I guess even non believers knows that we must respect those people who is older than us especially our parents. God Bless him.
