I really have no problem expressing my faith in the workplace, but I sometimes have trouble with guilt and letting the things I have done in my past get to me. I am a home healthcare provider and I go to my clients homes and care for them usually no longer than 2 hours per day. I found myself lying to my clients about my past because they would ask me questions about my children and I don't have custody of them because of some choices I made. I brought this up to a friend of mine and she said something that really put things into perspective for me. She said, "we all have a past, but satan's biggest and most powerful tools are guilt and fear. The TRUTH shall set you free.......literally." When she said that, I told her she was absolutely right! So the next day when my clients brought up my children, I came out with the truth and told them EVERYTHING! I felt so much better, and when I told them the truth, it opened up an entire conversation and they told me things about themselves they were holding back! My friend told me that holding back my true testimony may have been keeping one of my clients from getting the blessing that was rightfully theirs. When I had so much success with my story, I had to call her and thank her for what she said.
Anyone else ever dealt with anything like this?

nothing springs to mind for me -- still, it's amazing how God Opens doors & allows these small miracles to enrich our lives -- thank you for sharing this! :D

yes Sherri, our God is so very good ... :D

the thing to remember is that it is in our weaknesses that God most often uses us, as the Apostle Paul found out

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 9 But he said to me, “My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me. 10 Therefore I am content with weaknesses, with insults, with troubles, with persecutions and difficulties for the sake of Christ, for whenever I am weak, then I am strong. Context (NET)

so rejoice in the One who loves you, and be strong in His strength

Dinah
