Faith @ Work. I'd like to start a forum discussion on how we represent Christ at work as leaders in companies. As a business owner I have experienced first-hand the challenges of balancing the tension between Godly results and financial results; eternal versus temporal. The tension is what keeps us close to God. The imbalances -too much success so we don't think we need God or too little success that we get discouraged and give up- are the challenges.

Let's use this forum to encourage one another; for edification and for sharing the testimonies of God bringing us through the dark times. As I write this, businesses all around me are under stress, including my own; and those who lead them are struggling to survive.

Yesterday I interviewed three people for one position and the stress in their lives was so apparent. Only one was selected and the other two will be told they did not make the cut. I pray we honored God with the others. This happens in the marketplace every day and how we represent Christ is critical to how we lead.

God gives us work that He may complete His work in us. Leaders at work have a unique opportunity to be disciple makers. Maybe we have it all wrong. Maybe we think we deserve blessings through work. Maybe we think we have something to offer God when in reality, God has everything to offer us...@ work. I hope you have a blessed day @ work.

Stress at work is often the way God keeps us centered. the world tells us we should be successful and stress free at work. God tells us He is the balance. "Lord I ray for my brother Alex, and ask that whatever stress he is facing, you would either remove it or strengthen him through it. In Christ's blessed name. Amen"

Be at peace and know the Lord you God is with you.

Yes, Alan is right. Our workplaces are our venue to evangelize. It is bringing God to the marketplace. We do not necessarily preach. We show by example. We encourage prayer time.

In my own experience, being in a lending institution, I encourage our clients and staff (I do this during casual talks.), especially those who are financially tight, to give a 10th of their income to their church, where they get spiritual food, as their tithes. The heavens open up to shower blessings beyond us.

I am a recipient of endless financial blessings, among others. My salary is not enough to pay for all my monthly bills but, in God's grace and blessings, all are paid on or before their due dates. Credit card bills are paid in full, not only the minimum amount due.

The formula I used is income - tithes = disposable income. I give tithes. Plus, faith that God will always be there for me.

God bless everyone,
Amy
