Not sure if this has been addressed before - I'm new.

I'd like to witness for Christ.
I don't get out of the house much but I do go online a lot. So I thought maybe online witnessing would be good.

Except I don't know how to do it. I have a website which is supposed to be a presentation of the gospel in a "I wanna be a vampire" style, but I'm not that happy with it. (Feels like deception plus my writing skills appear to have atrophied).

So I was wondering what sort of thing I can do? I fancy something creative! I can't do music, unfortunately, my drawing isn't that great (I could maybe manage a basic cartoon) and its been a long time since I did any writing.

Any ideas?

I was a member of a 'Paranormal Board" for a while they weren't that receptive to me at first but i grew on them and they later as time went on they excepted me..But I must warn you by doing these type of things you don't get sucked into there way of thinking..I would present the gospel to some at opportune times and there was a few on there that wasn't crazy about me being in there no more than you wouldn't want a witch being a member of this board.. But for the most part they mostly excepted me there but you can't come on real strong with them you have to use verses from the bible here and there ...And work your way to gain there trust..

we do get the occasional atheist visitor, as well as a few agnostics - they are welcome as long as they respect the rules of the board :D

mavicius ...
I have a friend who also is restricted, and she has interacted on atheist boards, but she said they are very wearing and hard on the soul.
Another very important thing is to encourage ... to help people who are struggling with their faith ... and there is opportunity for that here, as well as other places.

in Christ

I have some questions that require me to communicate a Christian world view right now, from an online conversation.-

Quote:
How can you with the current understanding of the cosmos think that there is a personal god?

It seems wasteful to create billions of galaxies with billions of stars in each and the processes involved in the birth a death of these galaxies and the stars within them just as a trick of faith.

Why would god create so much suffering, slaughtering so many innocents to prove something to mankind?

Why would we be in his image? an unknowable being with unlimited power who apparently created the universe and everything within it looks like a human?

Religion to me is the product of ignorance. Fillings the gaps of what we don't understand. Not a knock on you, this is interesting to me and would like to know your opinion. No need to answer them all, the first would be preferable if any. Thanks for your time

I find it very easy to communicate the Gospel through conversation online. It takes time, as in these questions require some thought to answer, sometimes it requires the books, and there's no telling where the conversation can go cause you never really know who you're talking to- which is good in a way, IMO, because it makes it difficult to judge, it's just another human being that needs to hear the Living Word. But it's fun, and pretty safe, and you can reach many many people.

But as Dinah pointed out, it takes a measure of spiritual strength, because online witnessing is a very weary task, it's "battle" sometimes.

I think that when we witness to atheists, we experience the collision of two world views.

When God first made man and woman, they were pretty ignorant. They were ignorant of good and evil. They didn’t know they were naked. They were ignorant of sin, and hardship, and death, of killing and of being killed.

Then the serpent asked his question, and got the woman’s answer. The serpent’s riposte, loosely paraphrased, was that God was just trying to keep Eve and Adam in ignorance. So Eve tasted the fruit, and shared some with Adam. And “their eyes were opened”. They became less ignorant, and they became distant from God like never before. They even tried to hide from God. And God drove them from Eden, and they could no longer see God. And that’s how God created man.

That’s one world view. Here’s another.

At some time, life developed in the primeval ooze. At some later time, a creature crawled out of that ooze. His descendants gave rise to vertebrates, then primates, then man. Man developed tools like the spear and the hoe. The spear and the hoe are both sticks with something sharp on one end. One is good for hunting, and the other for farming.

In the course of developing tools, man developed a consciousness of the universe around him. He saw that it had order, and pattern, and symmetry, and logic, but no purpose. So he invented a purpose, or actually hundreds. And he developed gods and goddesses to go with those purposes. If lightning had a purpose, then there was a god of lightning. If crops had a purpose, then there was a goddess of crops. And so on.

Eventually man merged all these notions of many purposes with many gods and goddesses into a single God with a single overarching purpose. And that’s how man created God.

You aren’t going to persuade someone who holds one of these world views that the other is correct. You can’t prove to someone that God exists. Only God can do that. And yet, I don’t want to discourage you from witnessing. It’s still of value.

1st, understand it's not an intellectual debate

people that witness are merely a conduit that God Uses, nothing more -- John 6:44

i say this as ego can get in the way -- some Christians care more about being right than edifying -- frustration & impatience can hinder the duty also

nevertheless, we are Commanded to witness (Matt. 28:19-20) so we must do so
