"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7"

Good morning Lord, we praise you for you are our Father and Lord,
and all creation in your hands. We are at your grace and mercy.
Lord this is a very volatile time in the history of this free United States
of America and tomorrow will be huge.
Lord be with each of us as we go to the polls to vote.
I pray that each person who gets this pray will vote if they are old
enough. Let us use your wisdom and your knowledge when we are considering
this election. I pray for peace to be in our hearts no matter which way this goes,
because we know who we serve and it is not our government, it is you.
We know from your word that you have a plan and it will be as you
have mapped it out. If this country is on the slippery slop, as most of us believe it is,
comfort our hearts and show us what you want us to do while we are waiting for you to
snatch us away. This can also be very exciting for your children as we see
your words coming to life. Lord work in the hearts of those who are new to your
ways and help them to make decisions that will honor you. Lord I thank you for the hope
you bring to your children and help us to spread your hope and love to others.
Lord let us feel you in all we do and let us allow you to show us new and wonderful
things in your world and your word. I pray for great and exceptional wisdom for those
who are still confused and undecided as to how you want them to vote.
Lord let us make clear choices and not just guess. Help us to understand and see
the evil from the good. Let us not look at this election from our own needs but from the
words you teach us in the Bible. Let us look to you and not the government, the news media,
or commercials. Let us glorify you in the way we vote. And I pray that those who are not in this country
will pray for us as a nations and pray this election as it will at some point effect them too.
Lord I lay this nation before you and ask that you would send your Holy Spirit into this land and let it work for you again.
Lord I pray that you will continue to protect this nation.
I pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and savior....Amen

Please vote, it is your right and your freedom to do so.

I think we don't put God in our voting as Christians enough today. We should pray and ask God how we should vote as believers in Christ. we are Christ and we represnet Him show we should always ask what He wants us to do

But we need to realize that just because we Are voting for issues -- against abortion, civil unions, etc, that the Wrong choice Does get in lots of times. So we need to be willing to stand up on a local level also -- news paper editorials, school board elections/ meetings, city counsel meetings, PTA meetings, etc. to voice our Biblical ethics / morals. :!: :)

We also need to realize that Christians will not all vote 100% the same way when it comes to candidates. There is a certain point of view that says that all people who listen to the Holy Spirit will vote a certain way. I don't believe that.

In major elections over the past 20 years or so, about 2/3 of voters that self-identify as Christian will vote one way, but about 1/3 will vote the other way. I do not believe that the 1/3 are evidence of disunity in the body nor that all of the 1/3 are somehow not real Christians.

the key thing to realize is too many people believe they are a Christian simply because they attend church -- some think going on Easter & being "good" is sufficient -- so those polls are meaningless for determining how Christians vote

Paco,

I agree with your premise but not your conclusion. Here's what I would say.

The polls are meaningless in determining who is really a Christian. They could be meaningful to somebody whose main focus is studying voting blocks. Self-identified Christians are an identifiable voting block.

I persist in my view that when millions of genuine Christians go to the polls, we don't all vote the same way. And I'm well aware of the difference between genuine Christians and self-identified Christians, although there is some correlation.
