no more, no less, all created in GOD's IMAGE-- so to speak
but we have twisted that to imply that we look exactly like GOD
and GOD cloned us to appear favored above all else.
And yet all CREATION was good, at least so the book claims.
Why did it all then go awry?
Is it not written that from a bad tree nothing good comes and
from a good tree nothing bad can come? So how did it go sideways
if we have all wisdom and why is it that we all seem to have
just enough religion to love to hate another, who isn't from our
camp-or of our standard?
Jenn has identified the sinfulness of man and our inability to save ourselves, as well as mankind's continual, unsuccessful and destructive attempts to find answers to spiritual problems for themselves.
It went "awry" because mankind, made in the image of God, had the choice given to either obey or disobey God. The first man chose to disobey, and since that time humans have continued to go their own way and to disobey God. Hence, we use our own wisdom - "go sideways" - to try and find religious truth and end up with little bits only, and continue to sin, be arrogant and full of pride, and hate each other.
BUT that is not the end of the story, as God acted out of his love for humankind by coming to earth to show us the way, the truth and the light. The answer to this dilemma is found in Jesus, so a good way to start is to speak with those who know him. Of course, to learn more of him we need to read some boox (sic) - specifically the books gathered together in the New Testament, the gospels, that tell of him.
