I've been studying the OT sacrificial system, thanks to Bob Deffinbaugh for your many insightful articles on bible.org. I was just wondering, it seem impossible to do all these sacrifices with just one temple. I mean, for all the people to perform all the sacrifices needed (peace offerings, sin offerings etc.) it just doesn't seem like there would be enough time in the day for just one temple to it all. 600,000 in just men alone, not including women and children
Exodus 12:37 37 The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Sukkoth. There were about 600,000 men on foot, plus their dependants. Context (NET)
. It seems impossible that the OT temple could accommodate such a number. Does anyone have any insight on the frequency of all these sacrifices and how could they have been accomplished for everyone?

I think, if I could place myself back then, I'd have to go to the temple for a sin offering everyday (in a way this sounds funny, but in reality it's not. There are probably many sins I'm not aware of). Thank God for His sacrificial atonement in Jesus Christ. I pray continually in repentance for my sins and for His mercy and grace, may He continue to transform me into the likeness of Himself for His glory. Amen

That's a good question, I never thought of it in that way. Perhaps that is why most of the times of sacrifice were a week long.
