My "favorite" (most used) Name for God is Jehovah-Jireh. He has provided SO MUCH for me in my life! He, naturally, has provided for my salvation through His Son Jesus Christ, but, being disabled for the last 6 years, He provides for us, my family (me, my wife and children) so miraculously. There have been times when we did not know where the next meal was going to come from, and He provided! He is So Wonderful! Tears come to my eyes when I think about how much He loves me (us). I will praise His Name forever for He is worthy!

I love the "translation" the Message's term for God.

"The God of the Angel Army". Angels fought all the battles in the old testament. Especially for Gideon.

I am currently reading and greatly enjoying an inspired book by Roy Lessin, which he describes as a Devotional Journal, entitled Jesus, Name Above All Names. He provides 76 Names (or often Titles), the Scripture where the Name or Title appears, and a devotional comment. The book also provides a blank page with each Name which can be used as a Journal; most often these pages have drawn me into writing a prayer of praise, or thanks, or supplication to more fully understand and follow our Lord. I highly recommend the book.
The following describes a rather shocking coincidence I feel was a call from God. After reading our church Mass today, I came to NetBible to check a Scripture passage in Psalms that puzzled me, but I chose the wrong link in my favorites and instead came into the Forum. Your post soon caught my eye, and I quickly scanned Lessin's book to find a specific Name for your consideration, and selected the Name Covenant of the People, from Isaiah 49:8. As a started writing this post, it dawned on me that this text was also in our Mass today, and I had made a note, but then forgotten, that I wanted to reread and rethink this passage too. Bless you for your reminder.
