Hello brothers! I have a question and need some input on this. I'll try to keep this short. I use to attend a Evangelical/Missionary Alliance church. I left the church because my now "ex-fiance". For a long time i searched for a new church and I visited a variety of churches from all branches of Christianity. One thing I was dissapointed with was the lack of greeting of a stranger at a new church. I gave most churches more than 1 try to see if they would at least acknowledge me, most of them failed. After pretty much on finding a new church to call home I was found by a pastor at work. I'm a carpenter and I did repair for a railing company. He saw me and told me he wanted to talk to me. He said he knew i was a Christian Soldier (I had seen him before but never talked to him) and that I had been searching for God. He revealed many personal things that there was no way of knowing, Lots of deep personal stuff i never told anyone. I asked him (test the spirits) who is telling you this and how do you know? He said "the holy spirit of God" , God. At this point I didn't know he was a pastor. Until he finished revealing things to me. He prayed with me in a vacant house on a construction home that was not fully built. I almost cried. He said he could see i had scars from battle. He told me he was a pastor and had a church. Which I am now attending. It was definitely a Godly appointment. In this church, it is Pentecostal. There are 3 pastors, 1 main pastor ,1 associate,1 ex-pastor who is retired (great wise old man). There are also many leader personalities in this church which the pastor said God was calling for. I have been a leader as well with youth and bible studies. (I'm 31m,single, born again)

However it is a new church, it's small and there's maybe 4 families so under 30 people. I'm 31 and single and I am pretty much my own category. So as of late I have felt like I dont really have anyone to relate to or talk to from my age group. It would be great to meet younger people. It is a wonderful church. So after my searching, my godly appointment I am at a stage of wondering what's next? I feel God wanted me to attend this church which i have been for almost 3 months. I told my pastor that I was frustrated because there's no one of my age group, everyone has kids or is old. I have a problem with not following through on things. I have contemplated going to a church near my home that is spanish speaking Pentecostal church but I feel that i have not been told to attend that church by God. I rely heavily on God's input and from what has happened to me I am hesitant about attending a new church and starting over again so soon. What if all i have to do is wait longer and perhaps new members will come who im hoping will one day by a gf that could be a wife one day. In the meantime it's hard, even tho I know God is present there. I would like to find a christian,spanish wife but I also dont want to use churches as a dating service. Please help. Do I leave this church to attend a mroe established one with people of my age? or do i stay at this one because God has something for me which I just have to wait a little more for?

Sounds like you are saying that God wants you at your existing church. (Wish I could get such a clear message from God.) Perhaps something is going to be built into your life before you move on.

I will have to wait and see what God wants me to do. Thanks for the input.

If the purpose of church was exclusive to meeting other people our age, only then would I consider looking elsewhere. If the church you're at now is rightly dividing the Word of God and you are being challenged, it would appear to me that with these major purposes of the church being met, you may be where you're needed. Without knowing God's will for your life, it's going to be difficult for anyone to say where you should be. However, through patience and seeking the Lord (in his Word) there will be peace in your decision.

As a person attending a small church, 65-70 on a Sunday morning, I make it a point to greet everyone at the door and I have stated this several times to the board members with whom I serve, I am the chairperson for the board.

I do understand that the age group from 19-35, is not well represented. However, small churches need the support of people. I have seen people leave our church saying, there's not enough kids, or there's no one my age so they leave and I think why don't they invite others to be with them? Eventually the church will grow and but we need people who will minister to others.

Don't be motivated by size or age group find a church where you can serve and minister to others.

Hi Prodigal,

Welcome to the forums. On behalf of the staff, we hope that you find your time here both timely and edifying.

Neimand3D and GaryM have said it well. And with the testimony of two or three (i'll add my voice as well) should the truth of a matter be established (MikeC1956's Paraphrase) :)

Look to do God's will, build your patience, compassion & understanding through interactions with others. That means with everyone. Coworkers and neighbors, as well as your brothers and sisters in Christ. Paul writing to the Galatian said, "So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of faith." Gal 6:10 NET (Emphasis mine)

Well it is frustrating. This church stood out because so many people were moved by the holy spirit. As well the pastor had said God wanted to bring leaders into the church which there is a lot of in such a small group. It just is frustrating sometimes. This church being a spanish church everyone greets each other but that's part of the culture anyways. I will have to wait and see what happens. In terms of inviting people, i feel it's a tough sell these days. People just dont care about going to church and talking about God or Jesus and having to be up a sunday morning. I almost feel likes a salesman sometimes. My friends have asked me questions about God and we have had very good conversations, but when i invite them to church they stay away.

when was it ever easy?
Matthew 7:13-14 13 “Enter through the narrow gate, because the gate is wide and the way is spacious that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 But the gate is narrow and the way is difficult that leads to life, and there are few who find it. Context (NET)

@PS,

I imagine that a Spanish speaking church surrounded by anglo culture would have elements drawn from both cultures.

Once in a while, I visit a Spanish speaking church. It's not my home church, however.
