I have read the Book of Revelation and I have some questions and concerns-1. What is the best description to describe the Antichrist? Will he be young, middle-aged, or old when he ascends to power? 2. What promises will he make in order to capture souls; how does the bearing of his number 666 apply to today (wouldn't it be that obvious)? 3. Is the Rapture true; I've read Revelation 2x and nowhere in it does it mention God's chosen people being taken up to meet him along with the dead other than the 144,000 chosen from the 12 tribes of Israel?

Forgive me if I give a very general sort of response, rudy86girlfriend04!

Revelation is one of those books where Christians disagree as to what it means and how it should be interpreted. If you go to our section 6e1 you will find many topics, some of which might help you find the answers you are looking for.

What matters more is that Revelation, which includes such vivid descriptions of suffering and destruction, continually assures the reader that God is in control and that he is to be praised. He is sovereign over all, and in the end, He will win over every imaginable enemy. Every knee will bow at the name of Jesus, there will be no more suffering and sorrow, and God's reign will be complete over all things.

quick reply
1 -- this is irrelevant imo -- plus, we're not Told
2 -- those who are not Saved are already "captured" -- see Dan. 9:27 & Matt. 24:15
3 -- debate rages on this but i think it's true -- Rev. 1:19 reveals how the Book/history is split -- the Church is not in play come Rev. 4:1 -- here, Israel is back on center stage

what Avid said is true...God has won, wins, & will win

As for the Rapture, the following passage is helpful. (Remember, there is a lot of prophecy in the Bible, Revelation is not the only book that has it.)

1 Thes 4:13-18
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
