Welcome to the volunteer room we are so glad you stopped by! If you are here that means that you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Bible.org. Before we begin I would like to take a minute to introduce myself:

Who am I? My user name is SonShine my real name is Gaye and I am a believer in Christ, Jeremiah 10:10 The Lord is the only true God. He is the living God and the everlasting King. I also believe that He has given me a mandate: Jer 1:5 &7: “Before I formed you in your mother’s womb,I chose you. Before you were born I set you apart....The Lord said to me...But go to whomever I send you and say whatever I tell you. This is my desire to speak for Him in whatever capacity He gives me. I live in Texas where I am the Volunteer Coordinator for Bible.org as well as the Admin for the Women's Exec Comm and the Tapestry Blog as well as being a helper for the Children's Ministry Coordinator. We recently moved from Fla to TX to fulfill the call of the Lord. My husband, David is the founder of the forum and is now the new Exec Direc for Bible.org. It is our hope and prayer that we (working together with you) are able to spread the word about the trustworthy resources for bible.org in whatever avenue God presents. What do I love to do: Study the Bible, interact with new people; write; cook; and love my kids.

Now that I've said hello here are a couple of things that we need you to do:

If you are interested in volunteering go to http://bible.org/book/volunteer-task-listings and fill out the volunteer application.
Once that is done, go to http://users.bible.org and join the group titled Site: Volunteers tasks and collaboration site
This is where new tasks are described and the volunteers interact with each other and the staff.
At any time you can email me using my forum user name SonShine memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=94 to ask questions or just to chat or here on the forum.

This is a new section of the forum. It is a place for you to see who is volunteering, what tasks they are currently involved in and what they are learning about this new avenue of assisting bible.org move onward into the future. I am (SonShine) the new Volunteer Coordinator. It is my wonderful privilege to receive each and every application that comes across my desk and then to interact with each one. We now have 13 new people who have signed up to assist us in the global outreach network known as bible.org. But, now it is time for each volunteer to introduce themselves to this global network by using your username and sharing your vision, your passion, your hunger, your skills, your task. Will you post here to allow others to learn more about you? Will you share what is on your heart?
Let me begin with me as an example. I am a former school teacher and SS teacher. I was drafted into designing SS study guides for my husband's SS class which are now posted here on the forum under 4cLifeway ....they are free for you to download. How did it start? It began by being frustrated at the literature that is published, the money it costs and the little return for biblical growth. Having been in Bible Study Fellowship and being Precepts trained, I knew that there had to be a better way so that students could come prepared to discuss with wisdom not "poi" (pooling of ignorance). And so that not only became my goal but also my passion to train students to think, to articulate from the scriptures and to study to show themselves approved. Some 4 yrs later I found myself volunteering full time doing this project and it has unearthed a passion to now move from that into training others to do what I learned how to do. In January the founder of bible.org asked my husband, who is the new Exec Direc of bible.org., to leave our home and come to Dallas to live and to lead this organization. God blessed us over abundantly with the ability to do that and we packed our van and came to be full-time volunteers. Six months later our home in Florida sold and we moved here with all of our belongings leaving behind sister, kids and our church. We came because God called and we answered. God asked "who will go for Us and Isaiah answered "Here am I, send me". And that has been the answer for us as well. We get no pay, underscore that word "no". We give ourselves and our time along with the staff of bible.org to bring to you the gift of the Word. Our "pay" or our "wage" is the reward of meeting all of you over the Internet, learning about your passions, praying for each one of you, and encouraging you in your walk with the goal of one day hearing the Lord exclaim, "well done thou good and faithful servant".

Tell me and the rest of the volunteers about yourself.

Hi Sonshine!

Let me see if I can give this a shot as well... :D

I am a Registered Nurse by trade with extensive informatics/programming experience combined (a nurse who's come out of the closet as a compuer geek  ).

My passion has always been to help people....in fact, I've been in ministry since 1994 and ordained as a minister in 1999. I've done ministry for numerous groups - womens, world-wide military, marriage, and youth - to name some. I'm currently working on my Masters in Theology to enhance my own knowledge because I do so much writing. I publish a great deal and I want to ensure I publish what is correct and according to the best of my understanding - God's word.

My husband and I have a passion for marriages. With all that is happening with the economy, we know that many marriages are suffering - badly. We hope to live as an example to many and help those of whom we can through tough times. I consider it a blessing to serve as a volunteer for Bible.org in helping in any way I can for the hurting marriage.

Blessings,

Janice

I would like to volunteer; I'm a deacon and a young adults and new converts Sunday school teacher. I'm a Benevolence chairman and love to tell poeple about the love of Christ. I'm disabled and have access to my computer, which I also have free time during the week. How can I help?

Hey there Brad...how great it is to see this post! :D What a thrill to know that God is working in revealing His people to do His work. Love to have you join us in the vision of reaching a lost and dying world. Fill out the application on this link: http://biblevolunteer.org/
Once that is done, go and read the entire page on volunteering http://bible.org/book/volunteer-task-listings and do the mandatory tasks that are required of all "newbies" . And ....then we will go from there.
At any time you can email me at gaye@bible.org to ask questions or just to chat or here on the forum.

Hello,

My name is Brian and let me start off by saying that I was layed-off from my job back in June and am looking for a full time job so keep me in your prayers.

My background is in training and documentation, primarily. However, in my last job (with Marriott Vacation Club International) I did a BUNCH of different things, ranging from running their help desk for Information Resources to creating and testing allocations with their Finance and Accounting department. I've worked with HTML and SQL programming and have created training materials (online and offline) using a number of programs.

I own a Kindle, so am VERY interested in the Kindle project. I also see that there is a MS Word version without notes - I'd like to work on that as my first project (as a precursor to the Kindle project). However, I'm willing to do whatever needs to be done.

I've filled out the volunteer form and I think I've gotten everything else done that was requested, so I guess I'm ready to start.

Hello, I am Eddy.
I have registered as a volunteer, and see if anything I can help.

Hi Eddy, and welcome! I see you are in China. Are you native to China or are you originally from somewhere else?

Yeah i'm working on the required tasks. Saturday was an intense work party at my church so when I started on a couple areas my fatigue was getting involved, so to speak. LOL So, I sent a couple anonymous tickets.

I Completed all 3 registrations, doing some tagging now, then ready for editing. While Im at it, since this is the intro page; 8)

My Name is Robert,
I have a sorted background ranging from security, collections and 14 years of accounting. Currently I work as a Principal Broker/ accountant for a Real estate firm here in Oregon. Throughout my accounting career, I have been responsible for writing training manuals, editing Policy manuals, writing procedure manuals, and training staff in the use of new software, networks, printers, etc... My formal ducation Began at ITT Tech, then migrated to Sequoia Intitute. Computers to cars. My accounting career was formed from the ground up with no formal schooling, except the school of hard knocks. Speaking of which I have spent a considerable amount of time over that past 5 years practicing Taekwondo, of which I have obtain the rank of 2nd degree. Now I practice on my own and have decided to refocus that energy to the Gospel. I figure if I put that same energy into God's word, I might be used by Him. I have complete faith in God's ability to put me to work. :study:

Anyway, thats the short short short version.
Grace and Peace
Robert
