I don't know if any readers of this forum are web developers or designers.
But here is a link to 15 Layout Grid generators to help you build a webpage from scratch using html/css.
You just input what you want (header, how many columns, footer, etc) and it will generate the basic layout, than you just build on that.
I often teach html/css as a ministry to those who want to learn how to build websites from scratch, and I found that this has been a great tool.

Hope this is an encouragement to those interested in hand coding.

Name of your church: Formally;Water of Life Ministries under the Baptist Union; hardly anyone in the church knows that. It's in the biggest little town in Oz.
I'll bookmark this. At the moment I am using wysiwig facilities provided by Yola. Got to work out what look I want before getting into more powerful functionality.

PS. Have you any good ideas on setting up a wiki. My ISP gives me 200Mbyte with PHP and MySQL for free with my internet account.

John,
The only thing I know about Yola is that anyone can build and setup a website quickly.
It uses WYSIWYG - dragging and dropping.
I believe they also have free hosting on their own servers - so a complete package deal.

Not sure what your question is about setting up a WIKI.
There are a bunch of free software available to use.
Some of the most popular is:
Drupal - has a high learning curve though.
http://drupal.org/

Dokuwiki - very popular

Mediawiki - Wikipedia uses this

Here is list of some other free software to build a wiki:

The only thing, is that PHP based apps like the above may be difficult for newbies.
As you need to setup a MySql database.
Some hosting companies offer Fantastico which automatically installs some of these CMS applications automatically for you.
Of course most only offer the popular CMS such as Drupal or Joomla.
There are hosting services that offer others, but you may have to investigate.

Note: you can also install a wiki on your home pc.

I never tried this, but just another option.

I rambled long enough, so hopefully some of this stuff was of help to you.

" ...and seal the book until the time of the end, many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." Dan 12:4

Another good WYSIWYG editor is http://www.showitfast.com. They are usually real expensive but offer 75% off for churches. They have free hosting too.
