BTW, I've been advised it's best to keep on an existing thread on the topic.

My thoughts are, ink is far from the preserve of young ppl, even though so many of them do go to the parlor on reaching 18.

There are not a few grandfathers, grandmothers, pastors/elders' wives etc. who have gotten their first ink in more mature years. And especially if the design is faith-related, I guess this may also presupposes a lot of thought, too.

Also, their life experience will probably have taught them a thing or two about hygiene which they may apply to their approach to getting their first ink.

(If this makes any sense...)
