But in simple terms, a 30-year old person with a job that pays enough for them to be a percentage giver to God's work, to save more, and to meet all the expenses of living, should keep an emergency fund, keep 6 months or so of living expenses in relatively liquid assets (just in case), and pay off debts with the rest.

What's left could be put in growth mutual funds.

That kind of approach is reasonable for most people, but every situation is unique.

The WPZ I recommended a little more than 2 years ago was for people with more net worth who can stand the risk of individual stocks. It was great for me.
