Hey Folks!

I almost wanted to post this in Spiritual Formation or some Discipleship forum but...since it's wrong to double post, I'm always looking for a new way to present Christmas to my sweet children.

I found The Secret of the Greek Door-A Christmas Story here http://www.bible.org/page.php?page_id=817

I think my kids and I will read it this holiday season.

Any others want to comment and/or discuss?

Blessings,
Randy

*whew* Randy, I just read that quickly and it seemed like an awfully l o n g way to go to get to presentation of the gospel via Santa Claus, at that. A lot of imagination, but a long way to go. Sorry--just my 2 cents.

I thought it was a great short story. :) I'm giving it as a lit assignment to my older two after they finish "A Christmas Carol" by Dickens ;)

Chow_woman,

Perhaps a long way if one is focused only on sharing the gospel. But, as a story told to children with active imaginations, I think it a good way to open conversations about the real historical St. Nicholas AND teach about what Christmas is all about.

Perhaps I'm looking too much through the eyes of a parent.

BTW, my son Riley is playing Santa in a school play tonight! Ironic to me since just a couple of years back he was on mission to convert the elementary to "Santa-is-not-realism". Do you know how many parents I had upset at me?

Blessings,
Randy.

"A Christmas Carol" by Dickens ;)"

I ask you, does it get any better? :-)
I prefer the fifties B/W film version but this will always be Christmas.

We like the version with Bill Murray (the one they play on tv has been cleaned up language wise, although I DO like the old one the best....

i re-arranged my older two's lit classes so they can read A Christmas Carol now instead of in April ;) lol it seemed more appropriate.

Yeah, I can buy that idea. I don't have kids so I have my own active imagination to deal with most of the time *L* Thanks!
