Hello everyone. I'm not sure which location to post this, so if it should be moved, please let me know (or perhaps the moderators can move it to the correct location).

I have a new NET Bible on the way to me (burgundy cover, w/ notes) and I'd love to find a Bible cover that will fit it. The dimensions of the Bible, according to http://bible.org/article/net-bible-print-comparison, is 6.25 x  9.125 x  4.5 in. That's a really thick Bible!

Does anyone know where I can find a Bible cover/case that will accommodate a Bible of that size?

Thanks,
Jono

Thanks for the suggested link. It appears that even their "Double Extra Large" covers will fit Bibles up to 2.5" thick. That's about 2" smaller than the NET Bible (4.5"). Has anyone actually used one of these for the NET Bible?

I did find a couple of places that will make them custom, but they're much more expensive that way.

I'll keep looking.

wow that is what it says.. Let me get that fixed.. I have it in box and the box is about 2.5" It's not there in the description on the product page http://store.bible.org/product.asp?ProductID=85

The NET Bible is the first Bible in history with extensive Translators' Notes; we considered what kind of edition would be appropriate for those who want to use and perhaps keep it as an important collector's edition for their library. Thus it is only available in a deluxe leather binding, but at a price which allows pastors, teachers, and students to afford a Bible which won't fall apart with extensive use. It is thin and beautiful, with a page size of 6x9", only 1.7" thick, smyth-sewn binding, gilded page edges, black marker ribbon and soft black saddle leather cover. Also  New!  NET Bible Concordance: 31 page concordance with over 1000 terms and 10,000 entries. Those who have only used the NET Bible online will be amazed at how much of each of the 2560 pages consist of the extensive Translators' Notes.

Wow! That's good news that the NET Bible First Edition is not actually 4½" thick. So, can you tell me what the actual thickness of the Bible is? You mentioned that the box is about 2½" thick; that means that the Bible is at most 2½" thick, but can someone who has this Bible tell me the actual thickness of it?

Thanks!

Jono, I only have the Reader's Edition in print (my eyes aren't so good), but I found this photo comparing the NET First Edition with the ESV Study Bible, and they appear to be very close in size.

Thanks Gideon!

Can I put this in the suggestion box for your website? The comparison page (http://bible.org/article/net-bible-print-comparison) shows that the thickness is 4.5 inches. I'm glad to find out that's incorrect, but if I'd found a Bible cover that would fit a 4.5" thick Bible, I would have purchased it in anticipation of receiving my new NET Bible. I would then have been very disappointed to find out that I'd purchased a Bible cover that's way too big for the Bible based on your website's information.

Thanks to you all for your willingness to go through this with me.

Jono

The first edition is about 4.5 pounds not inches thick :)

6 3/4" x 9 5/8" x 2" (from the comparison page) :)

We've updated the site, thanks for the heads up! I will double check the store listing as well.
