I wrote two replies to Jennifer Dent and pressed the SENDREPLY link, but the two messages are still in my OUT box and not in my SENT box even though I sent them many hours ago. What can I do to make them send properly?

I'm not the most computer-savvy person on this board by a longshot!!! But from observation of my own outbox, I have remarked this: A message will remain in my outbox after I sent it until the person I sent it to logs on. When he or she logs on, then the message leaves my outbox and goes to that person's inbox.

If you have messages to anyone sitting in your outbox that you have sent, it means that the person to whom you sent it hasn't logged on and received them yet. When that person logs on, the messages should shoot from your outbox to his/her inbox and they will then appear in your sentbox.

Messages that are sent via pm remain in the senders "outbox" until those messages have been read by the receiver. Once the message sent has been read it will move from your "outbox" to your "sentbox"

If you delete a message before it has been delivered the receiver will still see the message however the only option is to delete it.

Hopefully this helps clears things up.

Thanks to you both, Jennifer & Overcomer. I didn't realise that it worked like that. I expected it to behave like email - once it is sent it goes to the server and that changes the state from "out" to "sent".

Cheers

That's understandable. It threw me for a loop at first, too, until I figured it out.
