Has anyone used the New Cambridge Bible Commentary volume on 1-2 Cor. by Craig Keener? I haven't seen any reviews elsewhere. Considering his works on Matthew, John and Revelation I'm inclined to believe it's respectable.

It's good quality, but don't expect it to be like his other commentaries. It's nowhere even remotely as detailed as Matthew or John. It also doesn't have anywhere near as much space for thinking through theological implications or contemporary application as Revelation. It might have as much exegesis as the Revelation one and as much contemporary application as the Matthew one. In other words, it's pretty thin. But it's not low quality, for sure.

Thanks again Jeremy! I have to believe that the results are more dictated by the contraints of the NCBC Series rather than Keener's abilities or dedication to the work. I have been very impressed with his other works and was very interested in this work when I saw he'd produced it. I am already fairly well covered on 1 & 2 Corinthians so considering your input I think my limited funds should be spent on shoring up other deficiencies in my commentary lineup.
