There are 2 volumes in the Pillar Commentary which I have not yet purchased - Acts by Peterson and Philippians by Hansen. I eagerly look forward to Peterson. I am hopeful, but less excited by Hansen.

I have not touched Fee on Thessalonians in the NICNT, but I look forward to examining it. I have seen the NICNT entry on Matthew by France and will probably purchase it.

I think that I have decided against purchasing Nolland's commentary on Matthew in the NIGTC - seeing that Osborne will soon release the ZEC entry probably confirmed that decision. I will probably get volumes 8 & 13 of the REBC - I have volume 12.

I do look forward to the BECNT volumes - James will be here soon.

My wife will have plenty of choices for Christmas!

John

You really should have a Wish List on Amazon, John. I do, and you've helped me in creating it.

I sometimes keep one at CBD - and I have also had one at Amazon - especially when Santa (Mine is 5'1" & 103lbs) is making his (her) list. I will have to update it from last year.

am wondering when a new, mondo comentary on Galatians will arrive...seems to be an overlooked Book -- Bruce's work came out in 1982, almost 3 decades ago -- any word on something stellar on the horizon?

BTW -- do you expect Petersen to overtake Bock?

I will have to review Peterson in order to opine on that issue, but it is possible. Bock is an excellent commentary, but I do not know that it is the best commentary for a Pastor who is preparing to preach the text. That is why we add Stott, Polehill, and others to the recommendations.

There are three projected Galatians commentaries on the "I sure do hope they finish that soon" list. I have waited for many years for D.A. Carson (PNTC). I understand that the BECNT volume by Moo is in progress. Recently announced is the ZEC volume by Thomas Schreiner.

D. A. Carson is one of the finest commentators we have period. Moo is excellent on Romans, Schreiner is also very good on Romans. Each of the above has the potential to supplant Bruce.

Zondervan Exegetical Commentary

James is out and volume 1 of Matthew is either out or imminent. I expect several of the volumes to be most exciting. Here is a list I copied from Parableman:

Matthew, Grant R. Osborne
Mark, Mark L. Strauss
Luke, David E. Garland (due 2007)
John, I. Howard Marshall
Acts, Eckhard J. Schnabel
Romans, Frank Thielman
1 Corinthians, Paul Gardner
2 Corinthians, Bruce W. Winter
Galatians, Thomas Schreiner
Ephesians, Clinton E. Arnold
Philippians, George H. Guthrie
Colossians & Philemon, David W. Pao
1 & 2 Thessalonians, Gary S. Shogren
Pastorals, Gregory K. Beale
Hebrews, Douglas J. Moo
James, Craig L. Blomberg and Mariam Kamell (2008)
I Peter, Michael J. Wilkins (projected for 2011)
2 Peter & Jude, Robert W. Yarbrough
I-III John, Karen H. Jobes
Revelation, Buist M. Fanning III
