I had a chance to speak to the owner of the insurance agency (featured in the video) today for about 30 minutes. My intent was to encourage him as he dealt with the tragedy of two of his born-again employees who were burned and later died including an unborn infant. You will see form the video that this man of faith is struggling - but he is strong - and his love for Jesus and the compassion towards his lost employees is so apparent.

My conviction with this video is two-fold:
a. Being willing to admit my relationship with Jesus more often
b. Being willing to reach out to non-believers to when they are in need of encouragement - not just believers.

I am teaching a homegroup (small group) lesson two weeks from this Wednesday. I want to talk about stepping beyond our comfort zone to encourage and reach out to others in times of need or just for the sake of doing so - Christian or not. I do not want this to be a warm and fuzzy lesson but one that will result in examination.

Any ideas on lesson content or approach would be appreciated.

Have you heard of ALPHA? Have at least 2 or 3 helpers or leaders in your small group.
