To clear up a few things first: No, I have never met Palin. Yes, moose are cool and I see them often. No, I do not now nor have I ever, lived in an igloo.

I am also a CW transplant, and I am very excited about the opportunities to meet others here. :P

A little about me:
~I like to quote movies.
~I collect Agatha Christie books.
~I cannot stand to drink anything cold out of a mug.
~I don’t like being in the shower if the power goes out. Therefore, in the winter time I always light a candle before I get in the shower/tub.
~I am a dork.
~I am the children’s director at church.
~God may not have blessed me with a husband or children, but he has blessed me with “common sense”, or so I am told. I get asked marital and parental advice often. It’s quite funny. But my biggest prayer would be that it was ME asking for advice.

I am VERY excited about being here, and thanks for laying out the welcome mat for myself and others!!

The drinking something cold from a mug thing made me laugh as well...

I lived in Alaska for nearly seven years (two different places...Fort Greely and then Fort Richardson) with some spread of years between the two locales. I do miss living there at times. Welcome to the Forum!

Thanks for the welcome!

I do love it here. I live in Anchorage and the only reason people choose to live in Anchorage is so that they can visit Alaska whenever they want.

The cold thing. I know, it's strange. Mugs are made for hot things - cocoa, coffee, tea. It just feels weird bringing a coffee cup up to your lips, and feeling something cold. Insert appropriate "shudders" smiley here.

Great to see you :D

We lived in Alaska for many years, and still have lots of family there. Some in Anchorage, and some actually in Alaska ;) I miss the people, and I sure miss all that fish!

If I remember correctly, was it Palmer you were in?

I do love the fish here. It's funny, when my friends from the Lower 48 have salmon or halibut, it is because they are celebrating something and want a fancy meal. When Alaskans have salmon or halibut, it is because we are broke and cannot afford to go grocery shopping!

The land of the midnight sun? I always thought we in Norway had dibs on that title. :D But in the spirit of Christian charity, we'll let you borrow it.

Nice to see so many familiar names here from Crosswalk.
