The Bible NETWork ~ Impacting the World for Christ one post at a time!

If this is not appropriate for this section of the forums then I apologize. I am putting it here because I do not want a lot of input from "the general public". I want sound advice from those who are experienced in the bible and approaching people with a heart of concern. My reason for this post is somewhat of an apologetic endeavor. I had posted a little while ago about a friend of mine who is a Mormon, (actually I now have 3). But I have come to understand that it is really counter productive to attack their prophets and history since they get defensive and clam up. So I was hoping to approach them with a simple bible study. So, I was looking for the most effective approach that would allow us to compare doctrines in order to show the incompatibility of the their latter additions to the bible with the OT and NT. I have an approach somewhat but would like a solid plan. I would like to start with "purpose". What is our purpose given to us in the scripture. The purpose that the bible lays out is that our purpose was to serve God. We were created for this purpose. The Jews were freed from Egypt to serve God. We are made free from the bondage of sin that we may serve god. We will be dressed in robes of white serving God day and night before His throne. But it seems that the purpose that they see for themselves is to become gods and to be to their creations what God is to us. This would lead into the second thing. What sin caused man and angels to fail? the answer is they wanted to be like God. And it is this that the Mormon doctrine teaches. So you can see my ideas. I need yours. So I need an outline of Mormon doctrine vs Christian doctrine.

Under "cult resouces" on the left of the home-page you will find the topic "mormanism". Under that is three links to several resources some of which are free and others which can be purchased.

These Christian folks are very well versed and the resources are very well researched and put together.
