I am a 22 yr old newly married mother. I grew up in the church but just recently began my own personal relationship with God. I want so bad to do what is right and live a holy life, but I am stuggling with personal women issues that I dont know how to let go of. I dont know how to discuss them with my husband and I have been too embarrassed to discuss them with the other women of my church. Plus they are alot older and I dont think they would understand. Would someone that really has a close personal relationship with God contact me so I can overcome these problems and begin the work the Lord has for me.

Hi my name is Nina I did find my own path with God until the age of 31. I believe I can understand where you are coming from and would like to help you out. Firstly, welcome to the family of God ... we are now sisters in Christ, and will be for all eternity (scary, but exciting too)

Then welcome to our forum, may you find blessing here in learning more about the God we love and serve, and also interacting with other members of the family. There are many wonderful resources here (check out the Spiritual Formation section) which I hope you will use to help you grow in your knowledge of God. The only real pre-requisite is the desire .... if you 'hunger and thirst' to know God better, and then ask Him to help you, be assured that He will place people in your way who can help you (because He has promised to provide all you need).

The only thing is that we must accept the help God sends, and not put our own conditions on what we will accept. For instance, you said you did not really want to talk to older women. But they are the very resource God has place in the church for you .... that is the way God means for it to work.

This is clearly stated in the Bible :

Titus 2:3-5 3 Older women likewise are to exhibit behavior fitting for those who are holy, not slandering, not slaves to excessive drinking, but teaching what is good. 4 In this way they will train the younger women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be self-controlled, pure, fulfilling their duties at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the message of God may not be discredited. Context (NET)

You see, knowing God is a growing thing ... like a child growing, so what should happen is that the longer you walk with God, the better you know Him. So in God's plan of things, those who are older and have walked longer with God and in so many different areas of life, and in so many different situations both of joy and of pain ... should have a deeper and richer knowledge of God.

I have also joined you to the private women's forum which is a private place with access by women only so that you can discuss personal and sensitive matters without everyone seeing what you are sharing.

I would love to share with you, to pray for you, and to help you in any way that I can. However I am an older women. But I have been married for 45 years, and we are still in love with each other, so I must be doing something right.

Seriously, it is by the grace of God .... and God is the answer, as God is the Hero, as God is the source of all love and fulfillment.
