Greetings fellow NETworkers :)

I'm please to announce that the first part of allowing Avatars is available.

In your user control panel under profile click "avatars"

You may then link to an off site avatar that you have stored somewhere on the web.

We are looking to add an "avatar gallery" at a later date. Keep your eyes open...

Be advised that should this feature be abused the one abusing it will be banned forthwith!

Basic Guidelines for All avatars:

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws...

I went to "Edit Avatar" in my User Control Panel and it said that avatars are currently disabled, although I clearly see the ones in this thread.

It's been great to see the Avatars that some of you have added to your profiles. I think it adds a bit of personality to each post ;)

As we don't have an Avatar Gallery (as of yet) I've been searching for sites that allow down-loadable, free use Avatars for use in forums that are acceptable to be used here in our forums. (There is so much JUNK out there!Image)

To continue here are a couple of sites that I've located so far...(if you find any that you think are appropriate for our forums here send me out a pm with the link and we'll check it out - keep in mind we are attempting to be a "G" rated forum!)


Have fun! *please remembering when accessing your UCP to update/add your Avatar to update your profile, we have added a couple of new profile fields that those of you who are not new still need to fill out...thanks*

Hi Jenn,

I'm a new kid on the block and trying to add an avatar but when I go into edit avatar and put in the URL for the image I want, it says that the URL is invalid. :| Only trouble is it's one of the avatar sites that you mentioned in one of your posts. Sorry but I'm stuck now ~ can you help me out? :roll:
