Me too Md2.
Actually, the ladies and I are enjoying smelling the roses ... flower garden, not vegetable patch, being my choice of cyber garden. The sound of men tinkering away at engines in the distance with occasional bursts of laughter is not at all unpleasent.

Except for those of us who have to pay another man to tinker with our car engine.

Actually, I believe that most men enjoy competition - whether fishing, checkers, baseball, or NASCAR. Paul used several sports illustrations - so perhaps the Men's Field or The Competition, for we are each competing for our Lord.

John

My wife likes to work on things. Years ago, she watched when a water pump was changed on our Opel GT so she could do it the next time.

The next time never came, but she did change the water pump on the washing machine.

She also changed out a thermostat, one that required her to take off the alternator first. And she and my daughter installed the overhead light in the daughter's bedroom. She routinely changes the ignitor (which seems to go out every couple of years) on the furnace. She's also a good shot with the 357 magnum.

Having a wife who is handy around the house is mighty fine. She does plant flowers too, can sew up a storm, and make a fine cheesecake. And she did a fine job on our four kids.

My favorite story: back in 1990 I told her I was going to buy a new car. She said, "I don't care what kind you get, but I think it should be a V8 with plenty of power." (I got a 5 Liter Mustang.)
