Jenn, I added http://labs.bible.org/NETBibleTagger to catch the references people dont use the bbcode for. Like in the example below. If you don't think it works, I'll remove it. :)

Brian

Great idea Brian lets see how that board reacts.... I will make a poll.

to all the NETBible tagger is a set of code brian built for the community to add to their web sites so it will make verse popup references of all verses in a line of text that have the form Book:chapter:verse or range of verses
so its a way to read a persons post and when they quote scripture to be able to easily read the scripture in the NETBible example John 3:16-18 .

I really like it too. Gives the option of taking time out to read and check out the passage in a very convenient manner, or just skimming the reference.
So much easier than opening a new window or tag, searching for the verse, coming back to the post etc. Thanks Brian!

Query - This may not be a common requirement, but can we get more than a chapter at a time to show up?
e.g. Rev 1-3 shows as Rev 1 only.
Is it then necessary to list each chapter? Like, Rev 1; Rev 2; Rev 3.
In practice, I think the Read More at the bottom of the first reference propbaly serves the purpose.

It doesn't seem to work with Firefox.

Hm, Works for me in FF 3 and 3.5 what version are you useing? Additionally, go to Tools > Error console. Choose the errors tab. Are there any errors? if so, what are they? It should definitely work in FF.

I'm using FF 3.5. Didn't even know the error console was there. Mine contains numerous warnings but no errors.

Gideon, I don't know what to tell you if there aren't any errors... And yes, warnings are fine and most websites will throw warnings. Web pages have to be designed to work in all browsers, and sadly, some don't follow the Standards (cought.. IE... cough :) ) So, Developers have to do things in certain ways that that break protocol to get pages to display correctly. And these 'things' throw warnings. What theme are you using?

I've been using the dev style. Just tried switching to prosilver and old_look. The tagger works in both of those, but not in dev. At least not with FF. It works fine in IE with dev style.

After switching back and forth between board styles, I checked my FF error console again and now there is an error:

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... Does it say what the source file is? I would need that too in order to know if this is related. Thanks!

Not unless it's contained in the exception that I posted. But maybe I don't know where to look.

Ok, if there were one, it would be right below the error message. However, there isn't always one listed.
