The Bible NETwork Blog is a place where the staff of our bible.org  forums can open their hearts and share what is on their minds,  in matters of faith, life and generally whatever happens to strike them at the moment.

We are a diverse group which differs in many ways, ways that are not that important. We also have important things in common. One important thing we have in common is our love for Jesus and for you. We hope when you visit that you are blessed by the important things and sometimes amused by the unimportant. May God grant us all the wisdom to recognize which is which.

Rejoicing

I love words ....  I love language, stories, myths, poetry ..... so it will be no surprise when I admit to having spent a great deal of my life reading.  In fact, thinking back I cannot remember a time when I didn't read, though of course that has to be the case.

Understanding Contentment

4:10 I have great joy in the Lord because now at last you have again expressed your concern for me. (Now I know you were concerned before but had no opportunity to do anything.) 4:11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content in any circumstance. 4:12 I have experienced times of need and times of abundance. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of contentment, whether I go satisfied or hungry, have plenty or nothing.

How not to love your wife

One of my favorite blogs is Internetmonk ….  Michael generally tells it as it is … a quality which I appreciate, as the “ostrich” syndrome is downright dangerous.  Recently Michael posted the following on a subject which a blot on our

Meet and Greet

The Lord has been working on me for a number of months that I might blog.  It is not something that I ever expected to do, but yet I always knew that I was supposed to talk.  Is this not another way of talking - I believe so!

Things Left at the Door

Copy from my blog @ users.bible.org

This morning as I was leaving the house to go to my sons first track meet I found a piece of paper attached to my door titled "I Am Not Ashamed"  I grabbed it and headed to the truck.  As we were driving to the meet in Dallas I took some time to read this 8 1/2  X 11 piece of paper and was amazed at how easy it is for Christians to twist the scriptures to make them seem to say what we want them to.

Spammers, Spammers Everywhere with no end in site...

Lately it seems that the Bible NETwork has become a magnet for all types of Spam and I don't mean the kind in a can.  We've been hit with easy money jobs, working from home, meet local singles in your area all the way to posts containing links to major porn!  What is UP with that!!!

Called to Teach

If you know the saving grace of God in communion with the Lord Jesus Christ and you are called to teach the Word of God, you may be wondering how to go about fulfilling your calling in the body of Christ. To become a teacher, one must first become a student. We can only teach what we ourselves have learned. But to become a teacher in Christ, you must first be more than a student of the Bible. You must be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

"Blessing" the poor

In Sunday sermons, we have been working through a series of teachings about how we can practically do something in response to the consistent teachings in scripture that God is "on the side" of the poor and the oppressed and that we, as his people, are to do something about the injustices that continue to plague our world. After all, God was so generous to us - who were spiritually so poor we were dead in our sins - that he gave his Son so that we might become spiritualy rich!

So, we who are relatively rich in our Western lifetyles, have been encouraged:

Pearls before Swine or Bangin' your head against the wall

As you may have guessed, if you've been around the forums recently, there seems to be an abundance of cultists abounding...

After a while, unless you have a real, confirmed, consecrated, ordained.....calling to witness to cultists, this becomes wearisome. The anti-trinitarian cultists are among some of the most trying for me. Unable or unwilling to grasp the idea that if there is a God, then anything, including taking humanity into himself, is well within his scope of possibility.
