I have come across this story before, and it has always made me stop and think, so when John Piper (another of my favorite authors) told the story again, I wanted to share it with all of you also.

I like to visit blogs to see what other Christians are thinking. One of my favorites is Internet Monk because while I do not agree with everything he has to say, yet he makes me think. 

Christians in the Western world can no longer take their faith for granted,  we must understand both what we believe and why we believe what we believe because Christianity is more and more coming under attack.

Human 'doings' vs human 'beings'

This quote from Dallas Willard expresses a very important truth.   Some time ago I wrote this, when I was struggling with the emphasis on 'doing' ....  and the lack of interest in 'being' .... and the really sad thing of not being able to see that one necessarily flows from the other ... what we do flows out of what we are ... from the heart!
